Guys, you… you do know this is fake, right? Like, on some level? None of you bothered to google the name?
Actually, it’s pretty accurate and not fake. Smaug giganteus is its latin name and they are found in the Themeda grassland of South Africa. Although they’re more commonly known as the giant girdled lizard or sungazers.
Sadly these little guys have become a vulnerable species and might even become endangered soon because of farming pushing them out of their environment and people catching them to sell as pets (which really screws with their breeding cycle which is already low enough as it is, the poor buggers).
